Physical therapy is exceptionally useful for expectant mothers as they prepare for labor, as well as remedying common discomforts associated with growing a human.

The labor and delivery experience can be very difficult on the womens body. Add in the 4th trimester aches and pains and Physical Therapy is the perfect tool to help your body continue to heal.

Every Physical Therapy session is catered to the specific needs of the individual. However each initial evaluation consists of a thorough medical history, along with a series of assessments and measurements to determine the cause of your concern, and the best course of action for treatment.

  • You’re probably thinking physical therapy is only for people that have sport or surgical injuries. That is totally not true. Physical therapy can really be for anyone who’s just trying to figure out and learn how their body moves and functions. So, preparing for one of the most challenging physical endeavors that can be done to a woman’s body (aka birth) is a great opportunity to prep, stretch, and strengthen all the muscles that will be involved in the birthing process.

  • The postpartum period in a women’s life is full of newness and transitions. During this time, a physical therapist can address pain issues, teach proper body mechanics for handling a new baby, and to help achieve a faster recovery. Physical therapy can be a valuable tool to empower women during the transition to motherhood.

  • ABSOLUTELY! Children are always welcome to attend our sessions.
